Why Westhill

A Levi chalet in Finland, without the hotel around it

Westhill is one timber chalet on the western slope of Levi, divided into private apartments. No shared hallway, no front desk, no queue for the sauna. You arrive, close your own door, and the space is yours for the whole stay.

Five reasons people choose it

  • Your own entrance

Each apartment opens straight to the outside. You never pass a reception, a lift or another guest's door to reach your own.

  • A private sauna in every apartment

Not a booking slot in a shared sauna downstairs. Heat it when you come off the slope, at midnight, or twice a day if you like.

  • Ski-in ski-out on the western slope

Skis on at the door. The bus stop is 200 metres away and a cross-country track starts 500 metres from the building.

  • Fifteen minutes from the airport

Kittilä airport is a short transfer away, so a Friday evening flight still becomes a full first night in Lapland.

  • A guest manual that answers before you ask

Check-in, WiFi, the sauna, the heating, house rules and local tips — written down, in five languages, on your phone.

Where Westhill sits in Levi

Levi is Finland's largest ski resort, 170 kilometres above the Arctic Circle, with 43 downhill slopes and around 230 kilometres of cross-country trails. Lifts run from November into May.

Westhill stands on the western slope, above the noise of the village centre but inside the ski area. Restaurants, the gondola and the resort's shops stay within easy reach, while the view from the window is forest and fell rather than a car park.

From October to March the northern lights season overlaps the ski season, and the western slope faces away from the brightest village lights.
